Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Muraba’, Festival President and Minister of Youth and Sports, the Iraq International Youth Film Festival launches the second edition of the financial grant competition to support youth film projects.
As part of his continuous support for young talents in the filmmaking industry, Dr. Ahmed Al-Muraba’, President of the Iraq International Youth Film Festival and Minister of Youth and Sports, announced the launch of the second edition of the financial grant competition dedicated to supporting youth film projects.
The competition targets young filmmakers working on developing short films, documentaries, or feature films, as well as first-time filmmakers. A financial grant will be awarded to the winner as an opportunity to support the realization of their film project. Applicants must be between 16 and 35 years old and present a film project that reflects creative visions and innovative stories that adhere to standards of cinematic quality and creativity.
Applications for the grant competition are to be submitted by uploading the creative project file, which should include: the film logline, synopsis, treatment, director’s vision, and production plan. Submissions are accepted through the grant link available on the festival’s website no later than October 30, 2025. The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Iraq International Youth Film Festival, to be held from January 6 to January 10, 2026.
The Minister of Youth and Sports called on all young people to participate in this opportunity offered by the Ministry, enabling them to achieve their cinematic ambitions and contribute to presenting a different image of the films made by youth.
